Welcome
Hi, I’m Mel. I’m a wife and mum of two boys living on the Mid North Coast of NSW, and I’m passionate about helping families create healthier, low-tox homes.
My journey started in 2013 when I worked in an IVF clinic and had to call patients to remind them not to wear perfume because the chemicals could harm embryos. That was the first time I realised how powerful and harmful everyday products could be.
Years later, when my son started getting rashes from our laundry detergent, I began looking deeper into what we were using in our home. What I found shocked me.
So we started making simple swaps to reduce toxins in our home and it completely changed the way we live.
Now I've created a space to share simple swaps, DIYs, and natural alternatives to help other mums create healthier homes without overwhelm.
If you’re here, you’ve already taken the first step and I’m here to support you along the way.

Why low tox living has never mattered more
We are the gatekeepers of our home.
There has never been a more important time to rethink what we bring into our homes.
Every day, we are exposed to thousands of chemicals that humans were never designed to live with and most of them haven’t been properly tested for long-term health effects.
What many people don’t realise is that the air inside our homes can be significantly more polluted than the air outside. And since we spend most of our time indoors, what we use daily matters more than we think.
Things like cleaning products, candles, air fresheners, perfumes, laundry products and personal care items all contribute to this load.
But going low tox isn’t about restriction or missing out.
It’s about simple swaps choosing safer alternatives for the products you already use every day. You can still have a clean home, beautiful scents, and effective products, just without the hidden toxins.
Over time, these exposures build up in the body. This is known as your toxic burden the accumulation of chemicals from your environment, food, water and everyday products.
When that load becomes too much for the body to process, it can start to show up in ways we often overlook things like skin issues, headaches, fatigue, hormonal imbalances and more.
And for our children, this matters even more. Their smaller bodies absorb and store toxins at a much faster rate.
So the question becomes:
Do you really know what you’re putting on your skin or your family’s?
The average woman uses hundreds of synthetic chemicals on her body each day, often without realising it. Many products marketed as “natural”, “green” or “organic” still contain hidden ingredients especially under the label of “fragrance”.
And because companies aren’t required to fully disclose what’s in fragrance, we’re often left in the dark.
This isn’t about fear.
It’s about awareness, empowerment, and making informed choices one simple swap at a time.
